David Goldblatt (né le 26 septembre 1965 à Londres) est un écrivain sportif, un diffuseur, un sociologue, un journaliste et un auteur. Parmi ses livres figurent The Games: A Global History of the Olympics , The Game of Our Lives: The Meaning and Making of English Football , Futebol Nation: A Footballing History of Brazil , et The Ball Is Round: A Global History of Football (décrit comme "l'histoire du football" par Simon Kuper ).
Goldblatt a enseigné la sociologie du sport à l'Université de Bristol et au Pitzer College. Il a d'abord été étudiant en médecine, mais a ensuite étudié pour obtenir un diplôme en sociologie.
En 2010, il a produit un documentaire audio pour la BBC intitulé The Power and the Passion .
Goldblatt a écrit pour le Guardian , l' Observer , le Times Literary Supplement , le Financial Times et The Independent on Sunday , ainsi que pour les magazines New Statesman , New Left Review et Prospect . Récemment, il a contribué à Howler ainsi qu'un invité pour le podcast du magazine, "Dummy".
