Paul Josef Olsson est un chanteur américain, notamment le chanteur principal du Alan Parsons Live Project . Il a tourné avec divers artistes au cours de sa vie, dont Rufus Wainright, Beth Orton et Placebo.
Biographie
Il est né à Houghton, Michigan dans une famille de musiciens. Son père avait un DMA en musique chorale et était un compositeur avant-gardiste de 12 tons , directeur A&R pour Motown Records et plus tard professeur à Michigan Tech ; sa mère était majeure en musique/voix et institutrice. Il a commencé à jouer du violon à l'âge de 6 ans. PJ a attiré l'attention de Columbia Records , qui a sorti au milieu des années 2000 l'album Words For Living qui a reçu des critiques positives aux États-Unis. Olsson a également fait une apparition au Late Show avec David Letterman , et sa chanson "Ready for a Fall" a été incluse dans la bande originale de l'émission télévisée Dawson's Creek . En 2002, Olsson a rejoint le Alan Parsons Live Project, devenant leur chanteur principal. Il a joué avec de nombreux autres artistes notables, dont Kid Rock , Muse , Train , Rufus Wainright , Iggy Pop , Beth Orton , Bob Geldof , Something Corporate , Ben Harper , Nelly Furtado , Placebo et Michelle Branch . En 2007, Olsson s'est associé à Salman Ahmad pour enregistrer un remake de la chanson de Nick Lowe , " (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding ", comme thème de l' émission de télévision CW Aliens in America .
