Il s'agit d'une liste de routes à travers le monde nommées d'après le nationaliste anticolonial et avocat indien , Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (alias Mahatma Gandhi ), connu pour sa résistance non violente à mener une campagne réussie pour l'indépendance de l' Inde vis-à-vis de la domination britannique .
A certains endroits, les routes sont également connues sous leur forme abrégée « MG Road ». Dans d'autres pays, Mahatma Gandhi Road est connue sous différents noms, Gandhistraat, Gandhiweg et Gandhiplein étant certains d'entre eux.
MG Road est l'un des noms de route les plus fréquemment utilisés en Inde, Agra en ayant deux. Plusieurs autres villes indiennes ont une route de ce nom. En 2010, des tentatives ont été faites pour renommer Hillcroft Avenue à Houston , au Texas, en Mahatma Gandhi Avenue, mais les promoteurs n'ont pas pu obtenir les signatures de 75 % des propriétaires. En conséquence, le groupe a décidé de renommer les zones autour de Hillcroft Avenue en district de Mahatma Gandhi . À Kolkata , Central Road a rebaptisé Harrison Road en 1892 en l'honneur de Sir Henry Leland Harrison, alors président de Calcutta Corporation. Il a récemment été rebaptisé à nouveau Mahatma Gandhi Road. Dans de nombreuses villes du sud de l'Inde , Mahatma Gandhi Road est populairement connue sous d'autres noms.
