Prix du livre Lillian Smith - Lillian Smith Book Award
Présentés conjointement par le Conseil régional du Sud et les bibliothèques de l' Université de Géorgie , les Lillian Smith Book Awards honorent les auteurs qui, grâce à leurs écrits exceptionnels sur le sud des États-Unis, perpétuent l'héritage de Smith en élucidant la condition de l'iniquité raciale et sociale et en proposant une vision. de justice et de compréhension humaine.
Depuis 1968, les prix sont décernés chaque année, sauf en 2003, lorsque le Conseil régional du Sud a connu des déficits de financement. Il s'agit du prix du livre le plus ancien et le plus connu du Sud, et il est présenté dans les catégories fiction et non-fiction.
